Born and raised in sunny Singapore, I’ve been into filmmaking since 2010. Whilst at home one day I picked up an old camera and not being able to skate I began filming my friends skateboarding. From then on I dedicated my time to filming my friends’ hobby. It was there and then that I realised that I had developed a passion for filmmaking. I started out filming different videos for a skate shop in Singapore and then I moved onto doing corporate videos, promoting companies. Over the years I realised it was about time that I furthered my knowledge in this field. I came across a school in Singapore called First Media Design School where I enrolled under a Mass Communication course. An integral part of the course was the requirement to undergo an internship and whilst searching for an appropriate company and during the school’s summer break I went to Spain. It was there that I was fortunate enough to get a 3 month internship with a media company based in Jávea. Once I had completed my internship I then headed back to Singapore for my graduation ceremony. Having graduated with distinction I then, as part of Singapore’s compulsory National Service, spent 2 and a half years in the army. When I came out I wanted to further my studies in filmmaking. The previous school that I was at had a partnership with the University of The West of England where I attended a filmmaking course. There I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Filmmaking in June 2020.
